Job Description
JCCC is searching for a part-time Lab Assistant for our Photography and Filmmaking department. This position will assist faculty and students, in and out of the classroom and/or studios. It will also require management of inventory and equipment, supplies, and photo chemicals. Lab aides' work is typically performed in a photographic and/or filmmaking studio environment. Lab aides are required to interact and assist a diverse population of faculty, staff, administration and students. They usually work independently and will be required to analyze, prioritize, and solve problems while keeping the studios safe and running efficiently.

Required Skills
- Associate's degree
- Knowledge of filmmaking professional cameras, lighting gear, and audio equipment
- Knowledge of photography professional cameras and lighting gear
- Intermediate expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud software
- Knowledge of and ability to mix and maintain photography chemicals
- Understanding in both analog/wet lab photography studios and digital photography studios
- Knowledge of and use of large format, fine art, digital printers
- Knowledge of and ability to mat and mount prints for fine art presentation
- Clerical & organizational skills
- Evidence of reliability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a diverse population
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skill
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with office suite software
- Familiarity with Adobe Suite CC software
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree (BFA) in photography and/or filmmaking
- Expert level knowledge of professional camera gear
- Expert level knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software
